Jay Z skips Met Gala 2016: What we know about his distinct absence

Before the 2016 Met Gala even took place, everyone was talking about Beyoncé. She had released Lemonade, an album that is said to be semi-autobiographical, only about a week before, so everyone was wondering whether she would attend the exclusive annual event with Jay Z by her side. Only two years ago Solange Knowles attacked Bey’s husband in the elevator at the same event, sparking rumors of infidelity on the rapper’s part. Once Beyoncé’s explosive lyrics hit the airwaves, people were obsessed with finding out whom “Becky with the good hair” was.  Jay appeared at the opening night of her Formation World Tour concert in Miami, and E! News obtained exclusive pictures of them riding a golf cart backstage, showing that they were still a united front in the wake of the scandalous headlines. So Monday rolled around and everyone anxiously waited for Bey-and-maybe Jay to arrive. Celebrities and their designers walked the multicolored red carpet in their on-theme (or maybe not) ensembles. Eventually the “Sorry” songstress arrived in her latex Givenchy gown and everyone looked on with envy as per usual.

Is that more shade being thrown? Sources tell E! News that while Strahan and Ripa seemed to have gotten over the drama that took place over the past few weeks, there is still lingering tension on set. “The spark was missing…You can tell there’s a sadness in Kelly, after working with someone for so long,” an insider says, adding, “but you can tell she’s just trying to put on a smile and put forward the best show”When the show wasn’t taping, Ripa and Strahan interacted and took photos with members of the audience, but never together. “It didn’t seem like they were avoiding each other but kept their distance for sure,” another source tells us. “They went separate ways during commercial breaks.” Monday the co-hosts celebrated their Daytime Emmys win, and both said the victory caught them off guard because they found out from their friends. “I find when we tend to not go we tend to win,” Kelly joked of their absence from the Los Angeles awards show.Let the countdown to Strahan’s departure begin.

Becky Who? Rita Ora Is Not Becky With the Good Hair, as Her Met Gala Selfie With Beyoncé Proves

Ten days ago, Beyoncé's fans attacked fashion designer Rachel Roy for posting a picture that seemed to reference Beyoncé's kiss-off song. "Good hair don't care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always,"

They ain’t sorry.

Rita Ora used the Met Gala 2016 as an opportunity to take a “family” picture with Beyoncé effectively ending speculation that she is “Becky with the good hair.” Ora, 25, snapped a selfie with Beyoncé, 34, inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City Monday and shared it via Snapchat, adding a heart emoji. The photo op came just days after Ora was accused of being someone Jay Z had cheated with, as Beyoncé herself had revealed in Lemonade‘s “Sorry.”Ora—who is Jay Z’s former protégé—denied being “Becky” via Twitter last week. “I never usually address tabloid gossip but let me be clear, these rumours are false,” the British singer wrote. “I have nothing but the utmost respect for Beyonce. Let’s continue enjoying Lemonade.”For reasons unknown, Jay Z did not attend the Met Gala with Beyoncé. Ora, meanwhile, was as a guest of fashion designer Vera Wang. “She is the best date!” the singer told E! NewsCatt Sadler. Ten days ago, Beyoncé’s fans attacked fashion designer Rachel Roy for posting a picture that seemed to reference Beyoncé’s kiss-off song. “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always,” she wrote in the Instagram caption. “Live in the light #nodramaqueens.” Roy later deleted the post, but that didn’t stop the BeyHive from flooding her comments with bee and lemon emoji; some of them even wrote obscenities on her daughters’ social media pages. In response, Roy tweeted, “I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.”

As speculation mounted that she was the “Becky” that inspired Beyoncé’s “Sorry”—if not one of many women who had been involved with Jay Z—Roy issued a statement. “I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest. My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that. There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors. Consequently, online haters have targeted me and my daughters in a hurtful and scary manner, including physical threats. As a mother—and I know many mothers would agree—I feel that bullying in any form is harmful and unacceptable,” the fashion designer told E! News. “I would hope that the media sees the real issue here—the issue of cyber bullying—and how it should not be tolerated by anyone.”Roy did not attend Monday’s Met Gala.

Game of Thrones Kept Jon Snow and Kit Harington’s Fate a Secret

How Game of Thrones brought back Jon Snow (Kit Harington) after almost a year of insisting the character was dead. He technically was dead until Melisandre

Game of Thrones brought back Jon Snow (Kit Harington) after almost a year of insisting the character was dead. He technically was dead until Melisandre (Carice van Houten) worked her magic and brought the hero back from the dead. Harington was spotted around set for months, but maintained he would only be back as a corpse. So, whatever, he lied. He’s back. Deal with it. So how did producers manage to keep a lid on leaks? By giving good ol’ Jon Snow a nickname.

The producers dubbed him “LC,” meaning “Lord Commander,” not Lauren Conrad. Although Jon Snow is kind of the LC of the Game of Thrones group…

Anyway, producers didn’t put him in the scripts, he wasn’t even mentioned in scene breakdowns, call sheets or any other show material, EW reports. His name wasn’t uttered. “No one was allowed to say ‘Jon Snow’ on set, ever, everyone had to refer to me as ‘LC,'” Harington said.

The only time the name “Jon Snow” was said was in on-camera dialogue. According to EW, van Houten had some fun with the “LC” name while she washed Harington’s naked body on set. Get it? You get it.

Van Houten’s fun has been continuing on Twitter. The day after the episode aired she tweeted the below to fans.
